Joe Schatteman will open our meeting with a report on Springfield. Mr. Schatteman is the Deputy Legislative Director for the Illinois Municipal League. For two decades he has been working in Springfield in areas of municipal concern.  He is an expert in municipal policy and legislative strategy. He also has extensive experience moving (or killing) bills though the legislative process.  Throughout his career, he has focused on protecting municipal authority, stopping mandates and protecting and defending against threats to municipal revenue.  This year, he was instrumental in the passage of HB 961 – LGDF Direct Deposit. A panel discussion will follow with retired legislators Sid Mathias, Dan Pierce, and Kathy Ryg who will provide forthright insight on making an impact in Springfield. Please join us!     Important NWPA Presentation

    The Barrington Area Council of Governments invited the Lake County Municipal League as well as the Northwest Municipal Conference to their August 26th meeting for the Northwest Water Planning Alliance presentation. Dr. Tim Loftus will discuss the recently-adopted 2014-16 strategic plan for the NWPA communities* and will review the new NWPA/ISWS water reporting web tool.
