Join the Lake County Municipal League as we answer these questions, review the legislative session and hear from a distinguished panel of experts. Joe Schatteman will open our meeting with a report on Springfield. Mr. Schatteman is the Deputy Legislative Director for the Illinois Municipal League. For two decades he has been working in Springfield in areas of municipal concern. He is an expert in municipal policy and legislative strategy. He also has extensive experience moving (or killing) bills though the legislative process. Throughout his career, he has focused on protecting municipal authority, stopping mandates and protecting and defending against threats to municipal revenue. This year, he was instrumental in the passage of HB 961 – LGDF Direct Deposit. A panel discussion will follow with retired legislators Sid Mathias, Dan Pierce, and Kathy Ryg who will provide forthright insight on making an impact in Springfield. Please join us!
